This blog was named after the song Strawberry Swing from Coldplay's fourth album, Viva La Vida or Death & All His Friends. As soon as I heard this song I was inspired. I loved the unique music as well as the lyrics.
People moving all the time, inside a perfectly straight line. Don't you wanna curve away? It's such a perfect day...These lines were the particular inspiration behind the name of this blog. I often feel that many people I know are afraid to make choices because they feel like there is a set path they have to follow. They stay in relationships, jobs, and other situations they are not happy with because they feel like they owe those people something. I have always lived my life by the motto that you don't owe any explanation to anyone but yourself. I am a free spirit, and to me, the lyrics of Strawberry Swing are telling people that there is no "right" time to break free of the things holding you back and it's always the perfect day to "curve away."
Now the sky could be blue, I don't mind, without you it's a waste of time...These lines also inspired me because, in a life where I have never felt like I "owed" anyone anything, I have finally found a person who I want to share my life with. Mr. Big and I met in college and at the time, I didn't really know how special he was. Over time, he has become someone that I value greatly and love sharing my life and everyday moments with. I still enjoy things on my own, and my accomplishments are still important to me, but things are more special and complete when I share them with him. I'm very independent, so sometimes I think he thinks that I don't really need him. Being with him has made me a better person and he will probably never know how much he means to me and how much I really do need him...
